The role

We are looking for a Bid Manager to join our growing ecological contracting business.  You will be responsible for preparing tenders, quotations, and documentation for new contracts. Our contracts range in value from £5k to £5million. You will be involved from initial enquiry, through to site visits. This will include estimating, bid-writing, pre-award presentations and contract negotiation.


  • Identifying and generating new business leads and managing and developing client relationships. 
  • Managing projects from enquiry through to tender/quotation return.
  • Fully evaluating the project requirements and accurately estimating costs.
  • Building relationships with individual clients to enhance success.
  • Compiling concise and competitive tender packages.
  • Once you’ve got the ‘win’ you will attend pre-start and site meetings and negotiate pre-contract terms and conditions.

To be successful in the Bid Manager role you will;

  • have experience of bidding and estimating within the construction and/or landscaping industry
  • Possess proven experience in preparing bids and tenders and securing the work, including using online tender portals
  • Have an understanding of NEC3 contracts (or similar)
  • Be commercially minded and analytical
  • have the ability to write in clear, persuasive and correct English
  • have strong planning and organisation skills, also proven ability to multi-task and handle several projects simultaneously
  • thrive in a fast-paced environment taking accountability for submitting bids and proposal on time
  • You will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, adopting flexibility with working hours when necessary.

This role will be based from our modern offices on the picturesque Surrey Research Park.  The successful candidate will live within commuting distance of Guildford or be prepared to relocate.
